I hope that you are all well and making life beautiful on this snowy winter day.
This is a reminder that we will be gathering on Tuesday evening at 6:30 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in West Barrington, RI. We will be looking at the winter retreat teachings being offered by Thich Nhat Hanh and the monastics and how to put them into practice in our daily lives. I hope you will be able to be with us.
Remember that you can join in the study at deerparkmonastery.org…teachings on the 14 verses. and at tnhaudio.org.
Having trouble keeping your New Year resolutions? With the new year many of us are making resolutions to change some unwholesome behaviors — and most of us have a difficult time keeping them. Thich Nhat Hanh has always taught us that when trying to change our unskillful states of mind we need to be compassionate with ourselves and water the seeds of joy in our consciousness…He also reminds us that our practice should be a joy. Here is a beautiful example of changing habits by making it fun and interesting! This was shared by one of the members of the Westminster group….enjoy!
In the meantime, forget about the doors that have closed and enjoy stepping through the door to freedom!
with much love and the joyful squeals of sledding children for you,
“I was born to live ten thousand lives with the heart of a child ”
—Thich Nhat Hanh
