I hope you are all well and enjoying every minute.
I am finally home for a little while and it is wonderful. It was particularly wonderful to come home Sunday night to folks doing walking meditation among the daffodils in our yard.
All of the retreats were very good. The Order member and aspirant retreat at Blue cliff was particularly meaningful…in that we were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Order. There were talks on the beginnings of the Order, what is happening now and looking together at our next 50 years. It was good to have Order members and aspirants from 4 of our Sanghas there to really experience the four-fold community.
On Monday Richard and I celebrated my 8 year anniversary of my surgery at the Conservatory Garden in Central Park. It is a garden of Eden and along with the beautiful flowers, we met some very beautiful beings.
This is a reminder that there will be a gathering Sunday at 6 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County at the Lily Pads complex on North Road in Peace Dale. Clare will facilitate and we will enjoy sitting meditation, look together at the next chapter in Thay’s book, “Creating True Peace”, recite the Mindfulness Trainings and share the Dharma. I hope you will be able to be with us.
I have been invited to offer a Day of Mindfulness on “Being At Peace in the Eye of the Storm” on Cape Cod on Saturday, May 14. If any of you would like to spend some time on the Cape, please come and join us. Registration is necessary and all the info is available at joannefriday.com/calendar
I hope you can be with us, and until then enjoy this beautiful spring….the hummingbirds are back!!!
With much love and many hugs,
