Deep Peace at Blue Cliff Monastery
“Practicing deep listening with ourselves is a wonderful way to
allow our inner wisdom to reveal itself.”
“God gave us two ears and one mouth
so we could spend twice as much time listening as talking.”
– my grandmother.
I hope you are all well and happy and setting aside some time today to enjoy silence, stillness and deep listening…. first with yourself and then with those you come into contact with.
In the midst of all of the noise and distortions in our culture, it is important for us to stop, calm, rest and heal, so we have enough clarity to know what to do and what not to do.
Many folks are feeling fearful and that can lead to immobilization…. remember…if you want to increase your fear procrastinate, if you want to alleviate your fear, act. Be the change you want to see in the world. Do one small thing that will create conditions for this to manifest.
This is just a reminder that this is the 5th Sunday of the month so we will not have a Sangha Gathering.
I lieu of a meeting you might enjoy watching this interview that Oprah Winfrey did with Thich Nhat Hanh. It is a lovely interview, full of wonderful reminders about deep listening, conflict resolution, etc.
Thay talks about his relationship with Dr. King and basically gives a wonderful Dharma talk. It was filmed while Thay was in NYC for a public talk….we were there….and were surprised to see a flash of Richard on this video! Enjoy!!!!
with much love and the deep peace of a silent morning for you,
